The Zero Gravity Ultima 8ft High Spec Trampoline is one of the most popular available today and it’s not hard to see why.

It is suitable for between 4 years old – 12 years old. It can hold a maximum weight of 11 stone 11lbs.

It comes with an inner safety enclosure, ease of access ladder, and is colourful in it’s design with yellow trim and thick blue safety padding that helps protect from any heavy falls.

A unique selling point is that it features a patented weldless steel frame that adds twice as much strength to the frame as traditionally welded steel frames without adding any more weight to the product.

What this means is that it can provide up to 2.5 million cycles or ‘bounces’ over a lifetime compared to the traditional frame which guarantees 1 million cycles maximum over the lifetime of a trampoline.

So you can see why this 8ft trampoline is an extremely popular choice for your garden.

Tested to EN-71 standards which means that it passes the needed safety guidelines set out by the European Commission to be sold within the United Kingdom.

The 8ft Kanga trampoline with enclosure is ideal for small to medium-sized gardens and suitable for children up to the age of 12 years old. The Kanga can provide hours of fun during the summer months while the safety enclosure provides great peace of mind.

It is suitable for kids aged 4 years old – 12 years old and can support a maximum weight of over 15 stones. But we don’t recommend loading it with over 15 stones. While it would hold there would be no bounce.

Designed with sleek thick black trampoline padding and yellow bumble bee trim and colour scheme. The kanga 8 ft trampoline with enclosure comes with a free inner safety enclosure and ladder.

The massive 15 stone (100KG) weight limit makes it one of the strongest 8ft trampolines we have come across, on paper anyways.

The Kanga passes the guidelines set out in the European Union standards EN-71 which relates to the requirements needed for sale within the United Kingdom

Made of strong UV PE, the padding is 14 mm thick and UV resistant to keep it lasting longer while it’s outside in the garden because let’s face it it’s not always sunny even during summer.

The galvanized steel frame provides durability and strength to keep the trampoline safe and secure when it’s in use.

We feel that the Kanga 8ft garden trampoline is a great choice and alternative to the Zero Gravity Ultima 4. Although there are some drawbacks, especially with the price fluctuation and the supply chain.

The Bouncemaster from Toystar also features a halo ring safety net inner enclosure that eliminates the chance of children accessing the springs while the it’s in motion.

A great feature we enjoyed about the ToyStar 8ft trampoline was the zip entrance and safety clip which allows parents to lock the trampoline when it’s not intended to be used. For those times when you cannot safely supervise it’s use.

The Jumpeeze 8ft trampoline is ideal for lighter jumpers.

It is described as a standard style trampoline due to the style of the outer enclosure. While this setup doesn’t offer as much protection as an inner enclosure which almost eliminates the chance of access to the springs during use, they are still a popular style especially from older models.

An outer enclosure does give more freedom during the bounce but with every trampoline we advise you supervise children when the trampoline is being used.

It is suitable for children aged 4 years old – 8 years old and can support a maximum weight of 11 stone. It sits 50cm off the ground and only has a 1.2mm steel frame – the smaller thickness frame they stock. So it’s more suitable for younger children from 4-8 years for these reasons.

Available in either BLUE or GREEN, the Jumpeeze is features thick padding and a straight black coloured enclosure, it comes with a free access ladder and a spring tensioning tool.

The Jumpeeze trampoline is a good choice for those with young children who are looking for a standard design in either a blue or green colour setup.

The Playactive 8ft trampoline with enclosure is an OK choice when searching for a small garden trampoline that offers alot of accessories for the money.

It is suitable for children aged 4 years old – 12 years old and can support a maximum weight of 26 stones 6 lbs.

Featuring a list of accessories such as a free ladder attachment, weather proof cover and a free shoe bag inaddition to the safety enclosure the playactive is an alternative choice for an outer enclosure style garden trampoline.

While being very affordable, safety is not compromised on the PlayActive trampoline as it has been tested against the EN-71, TUV, CE certificates.

The frame is made from galvanised steel and springs from heat tempered zinc aid in providing a great bounce. What really stands out is that it’s listed as supporting a whopping 150KG weight limit. We have our doubts about this.

Designed in the traditional blue and black it is an eye catching design and stands out well in the garden for all the right reasons.

The enclosure that comes with the Playactive trampoline is an outer enclosure which often leaves the springs accessible.

However there is a thick 14mm PVC PE foam surround to add protection and cover the springs.

Our Unique Trampoline Methodology

During our selection and review process the things we look into are as follows:

Weight Limit

For an 8ft trampoline the weight limit capacity should be between 50KG’s and 75KG’s. This is between 7 Stone 7lbs to 11 Stone 8lbs. Anything above is 75KG is marketing hype.

While an 8ft trampoline can often hold 100KG or more it won’t provide a decent bounce if loaded at that weight

Recommended Age

Most manufacturers list an 8ft trampoline being suitable for the ages of 3+ years. However a child may not experience much of a bounce due to their weight at that age.

We recommend that children be from ages 4-12 years to properly benefit from this size of trampoline.

Safety

The standard safety certification for outdoor or garden trampolines in the UK must meet certain criteria. This criteria is measured in a certification called the EN-71. The EN-71 part 14 relates to the sale of trampolines within the European Union.

To recieve this certification, they must be tested and meet certain specifications setout in the EN-71.

Assembly & Build Quality

How long it takes to setup and assemble along with how many people are required when building the product is listed below.

Along with the build quality, thickness of the steel frame, the number of springs and the padding thickness are all taken into account when reviewing each trampoline.

Cost

Expect to pay between £150-£200 for an 8ft. You may be able to find some great trampoline deals starting from £120. Keep vigilant and stay updated with this page bookmarked for the latest trampoline UK deals.

Features

When doing your search you should be on the lookout for certain features.

Don’t purchase a trampoline that does not have an enclosure included with it. It is now illegal to distribute trampolines without the safety net included for new products. Buying second hand there are no such restrictions.

A ladder, tension spring tool, and an enclosure lock are some added accessories that offer great value when they are included.

A good amount of springs, between 40-50 for this size of the trampoline.

Make sure you buy from a reputable and recommended company. All the products listed on our website are from trusted sources.

There are some things you need to consider so we’ve included an FAQ at the end of this post to help you decide if choosing this size trampoline is the right choice.

Our Round Up

After spending a lot of time researching and building trampolines it’s become second nature for me to find the positives and negatives of each we review. We received expert advice from a number of UK suppliers while writing up this review and guide who corrected any information that was incorrect.

We must state that often the weight limits of trampolines are wildly exaggerated and while they could technically support that weight, the trampoline would not move. Disregard anything above 100KG, this will be the best weight limit to use.

The WhatKid’s favourite picks are definitely the Zero Gravity Ultima 4 and the Kanga Garden Trampoline.

Cheapest 8ft Trampoline With Enclosure

We have reviewed the cheapest available.

Two of the best and cheapest available are the Zero Gravity Ultima 4, and the Kanga 8ft Premium. Both Feature an inner enclosure and tested to the toy safety EN-71 European Standard regulations making them one of the safest and cheapest 8ft trampolines.

What Should you Consider?

When looking for a new trampoline especially if you’re on the lookout to buy a cheap 8ft trampoline UK is to measure all the features against our list of must-haves.

  • The trampoline must have a safety certificate and pass the EN-71 or equal testing requirements.
  • It must be suitable for the age of the children who are going to be using it.
  • It must support the weight of the kids that will be using it.
  • It needs to be affordable, you should be looking to spend between £120 and £200 for the cheapest.
  • Check what accessories that the model comes with – Does it have a ladder included? For example.
  • Is the padding thick enough around the trampoline – it should be between 14mm and 20mm thickness.
  • Does the cheapest have an inner enclosure included in for safety-conscious parents? – New one’s must but second hand may not.

Both the products listed meet all the requirements set out. It will be up to you to decide whether the trampoline is suitable and to make sure that the weight capacity is not exceeded.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is an 8ft trampoline big enough?

An 8ft trampoline is approximately 243 cm, 2.43 m or 8ft in diameter. That’s including the trampoline enclosure. An 8ft Trampoline is suitable for children 5 years old to 12 years old. Adult supervision is always recommended.

How much weight can an 8ft trampoline hold?

The maximum weight for a single user on a trampoline can vary, always check the retailer’s information that should list the maximum recommended weight allowed. For an 8ft trampoline, you should be looking at loading the trampoline with no more than 75kg. That’s just under 12 stone maximum weight allowance which is generous for the size. To be exact 75kg maximum weight allowance for this size of trampoline would be 11 stone and 11 pounds. Some 8ft trampolines can hold 120KG & 150KG.

How many children can use an 8ft trampoline?

All safety manuals and research will tell you that you should never allow more than one person on the trampoline at a time and we echo that advice. Trampoline accidents happen and we want to help you lower the risk of that occurring at home. Allow only one child on the trampoline at any time.

What is the cost of an 8ft trampoline?

£120 – £160 for a budget or cheap 8ft trampoline with enclosure.
£150 – £200 for a mid-market 8ft trampoline with enclosure accessories.
£150 – £300 for a premium 8ft trampoline with enclosure and extra accessories.

What size of garden do I need?

Purchasing a trampoline brings up many questions, one of the most popular questions is what size of garden do I need for a certain size of trampoline, for an 8ft trampoline which is usually around 240 cm a small to a medium garden is perfect. You should make sure there are no objects surrounding the trampoline and it’s placed on a flat level surface – preferably grass. Check the trampoline specifications and dimensions from the retailer’s website and measure your garden up.

What age is suitable for an 8ft trampoline?

An 8ft trampoline should be perfect for children aged 5-12 years old. Bear in mind the weight limit is quite generous with trampolines – always check the retailer’s website but quite often they can hold up to 75kg, just under 12 stone so that could support up to a 16-year-old but bounce space would be impacted.

  2. Hey. I followed your link instructions and just missed the last couple of days – today I refreshed every second for the entire hour and nothing came up. Serious finger cramp. Are you sure they’re released every day?!

    • Hi Darren,

They haven’t been released today from what I can tell, so far anyway. Sometimes this happens. They have released daily Monday – Friday last week. If we see that there available I’ll fire you an email to update you.
We aren’t always right as we don’t make the decisions when stock is released we just inform people the best we can. Hope this helps.

  5. It’s my daughters 4th birthday on Tuesday and all she has actually asked for is for a trampoline in her garden but I haven’t been able to purchase one anywhere as they are all sold out. So to win one for her would be amazing. It will make what could be a sad day a better day as daddy can’t be with us as he is working for the nhs and all holidays have been cancelled!!!

  18. Thank you for the really useful advice on trampolines. My son would be so happy to win this teampoline. He has a profound learning disability + autism amongst other things and has no understanding of this lock down. He is missing his routine and school, the trampoline would be a brilliant resource for him to expend some energy + pas some hours. Thanks for this chance.
